Sophie Woods is a runnerrunner/ˈrʌn.ər/L1跑步的人a person who runs, often in races from New Zealand. She ran across the big Alps in Europe. The Alps are a very big mountainmountain/ˈmaʊn.tɪn/L1山,高山a very high piece of land, like a big hill range in Europe. She started in Italy and finished in Monaco on the coast. She ran 2,000 kilometers through eight countries and finished in only 29 days. This was the fastestfastest/ˈfɑː.stɪst/L1最快的moving or doing something more quickly than anyone or anything else time for this very hard run and she did a very good job.
The run was very hard because there were bad heatwaves and wildfires. The fires made the path dangerousdangerous/ˈdeɪn.dʒər.əs/L1危险的something that can hurt you or make you unsafe so she had to take a new route. She did not sleep much and she was very tired so she said "I am ecstatic but knackeredknackered/ˈnæk.əd/L1非常累的,筋疲力尽的very tired." Now the run is over and she is happy so she will rest, watch Netflix, and eat vegetables.
